The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Duane Maguire.
Motion Ahrens second Eurich to accept the January 18, 2010 regular meeting minutes as printed. Carried.
Fire Chief Young reported the department had two assists for January.
Police Chief Sherrod gave the statistics for his department for January.
Correspondence was received from Tuscola Enterprise Facilitation asking for continued contribution to the program.
Motion Eurich second Ahrens to obtain a debit card from Chemical Bank for Fire Chief Doug Young only with a $300 per purchase spending limit. Carried.
The first reading of the 2010-11 budget commenced at 8:03 p.m. and finished at 8:08 p.m.
The clerk asked the council whether they wished to keep or amend the Council Rules of Procedure regarding audience recognition. They decided to keep the current rules which are: that only by a request of a council member and by assent from the presiding officer can an audience member speak at times other than audience recognition; that any person addressing the council during a meeting or public hearing shall be limited to three (3) minutes in length.
Motion Ahrens second Hall to pay bills of approximately $5,084.44. Carried.
