Synopsis of a Regular Meeting

Held on September 10, 2018

at 6:30 PM

CALL TO ORDER

 

A meeting of the Village of Fairgrove Board was called to order by President Wassa at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018, in the Fairgrove Village Hall, 5005 W. Center St. Fairgrove, Tuscola County, Michigan.

 

Roll Call

            Present Cathy Phelps, Troy McIntosh, Doug Stevens, Kristin Nelson and Tom Wassa

 

Motion #1. Motion by D. Stevens, supported by K. Nelson, to approve the agenda as amended.  Motion carried (5-0).

 

Motion #2. Motion by T. McIntosh, supported by C. Phelps, to approve the minutes of the August 6, 2018 meeting. Motion carried (5-0).  

 

 

PUBLIC AND BOARD COMMENTS

 

The public discussed the recent Bean Festival and improvements in the village.

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

 

Chief Young updated the board on fire runs (8) for the month of August 2018 and put the fire run report on file.

 

The potential new Fire Truck is available for examination.

 

DPW REPORT

 

DPW reports the Street sweeper is up and running.

 

Brush pick up is anticipated toward the end of the month or early next month. Information will be made available when dates are set.

 

Park volunteers did a terrific job. A spring clean-up was suggested.

 

CLERK REPORT

The clerk provided an update on dangerous buildings.

 

A review of the emergency repair on the fire hall was presented.

 

OLD BUSINESS

None.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Motion #3. Motion by T. McIntosh. Seconded by D. Stevens to accept the bid by Great Lakes Land Management for village snow plowing service for the year 2018 snow season. (RC 5-0 )

 

Discussion of Blight on  Township building block. The enforcement officer will address.

 

 

Motion #4. Motion by D. Stevens. Seconded by  T. McIntosh to pay the village expenses in the amount of $11,59.17 (RC 5-0)

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

Motion #5. Motion by T. McIntosh. Seconded by D. Stevens to adjourn.  (5-0). 

 

Meeting adjourned at 7:08 PM.
