Public Hearing -BUDGET	Budget

Agenda: NOTICE of PUBLIC HEARING The Fairgrove Village Council will hold a public hearing to discuss the budget for 2017-18 fiscal year on March 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Village of Fairgrove Village Hall, 5005 W Main Street. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing. A copy of the proposed budget is available for public inspection at the Village of Fairgrove office, 5005 W. Center Street during regular business hours; Tuesday 12:00-5:30 PM and Friday, 10 AM- 2PM. You may also contact the clerk at 855.250.3894 The regular monthly council meeting will continue immediately after this hearing. The adoption of 2017-18 budget will be an agenda item. Persons with disabilities needing accommodations for effective participation in the public hearing/public meeting should contact the clerk at 855.250.3894 one week in advance to request mobility, visual, hearing, or other assistance.
Minutes: Fairgrove Village Council Minutes Public Hearing Meeting March 6, 2017 A public ordinance hearing was called at 7:00 p.m. by President Wassa to present and discuss the 2017/2018 Budget of the ViIlage of Fairgrove. PRESENT: Tom Wassa, Tina Wassa, Cathy Phelps, Brad Phelps and Troy Mcintosh EMPLOYEES: H. Stark, Chief Young PUBLIC: Members of the public were in attendance President Wassa called the hearing to order and directed the clerk to review the budget. The clerk presented and explained the truth in taxation report from 2016. The public was encouraged to make comments and ask questions. The budget for the General Fund (2017/2018) was presented for public comment and review. Explanations of line items were made available to the satisfaction of the public. Tina Wassa moved that the board adopt the General Fund (2017/2018) Budget as presented. Cathy Phelps seconded the motion and the budget was adopted 5-0. The Local Street Improvement Fund Budget for 2017/2018 was presented to the public. The public was encouraged to make comments and ask questions. Brad Phelps moved to adopt the 2017/2018 Local Street Improvement Fund Budget. The motion was seconded by Tina Wassa. The motion passed 5-0. The Local Road Fund Budget for 2017/2018 was presented and discussed. President Wassa requested additional public comment or questions. Brad Phelps moved to adopt the Local Road Fund Budget for 2017/2018. Troy Mcintosh seconded the motion and the motion was passed 5-0. The Major Road Fund Budget (2017/2018) was presented and discussed. The public was encouraged to make comments and ask questions. With no additional questions asked, Tina Wassa moved to adopt the Major Road Fund Budget for 2017/2018. Brad Phelps seconded and the motion was passed 5-0. The board moved to levee the same taxes as requested in 2016 and as reported in the truth in taxation report at this hearing. Cathy Phelps moved to levee 11.0440 mil for operating funds and 1.0000 mil for street funds. Brad Phelps seconded. President Wassa asked for additional comment.
