ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

 

                                                      VARIANCE REQUEST

 

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Fairgrove Village Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the conference room at the Fairgrove Village Hall, 5005 W. Center, Fairgrove, Michigan.  The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the application submitted by Diane and David Davidson for a variance from Section 11.02(4) of the Zoning Ordinance to reduce the 10 acre requirement for a manufactured housing park to 6 acres to allow the sale of the unused portion of the property for agricultural use.  This property is identified as tax parcel number: 036-016-000-3400-01 and is zoned MHP-Manufactured Housing Park. 

 

  

You are encouraged to attend this public hearing.   Any interested person may appear or be represented at the hearing to make comments or ask questions regarding the proposed Variance.  Written comments can be submitted to the Village Clerk at P.O. Box 227, 5005 W. Center, Fairgrove, Michigan 48733 prior to the hearing.

FAIRGROVE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

MEETING MINUTES

November 3, 2012

 

PRESENT:  J. Blankenship, C. Childs, L. Cramer, S. Young

ABSENT:  C. Mowry

EMPLOYEES:  M. Couture, W. Prusi

VISITORS:  Carolyn Bills, Ralph Bills, Ray Cragg, Rosalie Cragg, Dave Davidson, Diane Davidson

 

Zoning Board of Appeals meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by Chairman Blankenship

 

Childs/Young motioned to reappoint J. Blankenship as Chairman; all in favor, motion carried.

 

Zoning Board of Appeals terms of office agreed to among the members as follows:

 

3-Year Terms:  Carl Childs and Steve Young

2-Year Terms:  Jim Blankenship and Lynn Cramer

1-Year Term:  Curtis Mowry

            Two alternate seats remain vacant at this time.

 

OLD BUSINESS - NONE

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Davidson Variance Request – L. Cramer read the notice of public hearing detailing the variance request and discussion was held.  J. Blankenship said request is just reclassifying the use of the property and not changing any village ordinances.  S. Young said he looked at the property and there are two access points to the field without going through the mobile home park.  J. Blankenship said there is only one access point, but it has always been that way. 

 

AUDIENCE RECOGNITION

 

D. Davidson stated he has been farming the parcel since the mobile home park has been there.  R. Bills stated that the field has been farmed the entire time he has lived in the park, and there is no problem.

 

Childs/Cramer motioned to approve the zoning variance as requested; all in favor, motion carried.

 

As there was no other business, Cramer/Young motioned to adjourn; all in favor, motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
