MEETING MINUTES
JULY 2, 2012
PRESENT: P. Wood, J. Gehrls, D. Maguire, A. Leen, T. Wassa

Council meeting called to order at 7 p.m. Wassa/Gehrls made a motion to accept the June 4, 2012 Fairgrove Village Council Minutes. Motion Carried.
Audience Recognition
F. Beller discussed the Police Department.
Department/Committee Reports
Fire – Three fires for the month of June. Leen/Wood made a motion to allow Linda Kusz (coach for the A-F Pep Squad) to do a car wash fundraiser in front of the fire hall on July 14, 2012 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Motion Carried. Chief Young also reported that he has three applications on file for possible new firefighters. He will report at the next Council meeting.
Police – Wassa/Gehrls made a motion to adopt Resolution establishing a law enforcement agency within the Village of Fairgrove. Motion Carried. Wood/Gehrls made a motion to hold two Public Hearings regarding the Police Department – to be held on Thursday, July 19th at 7 p.m. and July 20, 2012 at 9 a.m. Motion Carried. (Note: Dates had to be changed due to 15 day limitation – now will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 9 a.m. and July 24, 2012 at 7 p.m.)
Gehrls/Leen made a motion to contract with Kappen Tree Service for $2000.00 to remove four trees and stumps. Motion Carried.
President Maguire appointed J. Gehrls as Street Administrator. She replaces A. Leen who will be leaving the Village Council as a Trustee as she is moving out of the Village.
Old Business
Wood is still working on asbestos removal for old school.
New Business
Clerk’s Interviews will be on Monday, July 9th at 4 p.m.
Finances
Gehrls/Wassa made a motion to approve July bills totaling $110,022.61. Motion Carried.
As there was no other business, meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
