ORDINANCE NO. 8A
PEDDLERS AND VENDORS
THE VILLAGE OF FAIRGROVE ORDAINS:
Section 1. That every hawker, peddler or vendor or other person traveling about and selling or offering for sale any goods, wares, merchandise, or product of any kind, shall, before selling any of such goods, wares, merchandise or products in the village aforesaid, procure a license from the Village Clerk of said village, and shall pay to said clerk the proper amount of fees for such license, provided for in the following section.
Section 2. For each and every vehicle engaged in said business in the village $20.00; for each and every hand cart, $10.00; for each person engaged in said business on foot, $5.00.
Section 3. The Village Clerk shall upon receipt of the fees prescribed issue to such person making application, a license to sell such goods, wares, merchandise or products, and the license shall state the particular days that such person may sell such goods, wares, merchandise or products, provided that no license shall be issued for more than six consecutive days on the same application, and provided further, that this ordinance shall not apply to any person residing in said village, nor prohibit any persons from selling any product of his or her own labor or any person selling fish.
Section 4. The Village Marshall is hereby empowered to stop every person from selling any goods, wares, merchandise or products in said village who has not complied with the requirements of this ordinance. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, on conviction thereof, pay a fine of $50.00 and the costs of prosecution.
Section 5. Each section of this ordinance, and each provision of any section shall be considered separable and the invalidity of any portion of this ordinance shall not affect the validity or enforcement of any other portion.
Section 6. This ordinance shall become effective after publication and expiration of the time prescribed by law.
