The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Duane Maguire.

Motion Adams second Ahrens to accept the October 19, 2009 regular meeting minutes as printed.    Carried.

Several residents and property owners voiced concerns about activities and noise on E. Poplar Street and requested that the village provide more police coverage on their street. The council suggested they meet with Police Chief Sherrod.

Fire Chief Young reported that the department had 1 run for October. Young was instructed by the council that if illegal fire burning occurs in the village when the police department is not on duty that 9-1-1 be called to report the incident.

Police Chief Sherrod gave the statistics for his department for October.

Motion Adams second Ahrens to appoint Fern Young to the Planning Commission while removing Robert Ahrens from same.    Carried.

Hall inquired whether anything could be done to vacate Prusi’s council trustee seat as Prusi can not attend council meetings due to employment obligations. The clerk reported that the village attorney had been contacted and she would obtain his response in writing.

Correspondence was received from Tuscola County Commissioner Amanda Roggenbuck informing of her appointment as Chair of the Agriculture and Tourism Subcommittee for the Michigan Association of Counties.

The clerk reminded the council that employee evaluations needed to be conducted, that state revenue sharing had been decreased by 11.1% in next year’s budget, and that Commissioner Roggenbuck would like to hold a meeting with the council and residents. The council instructed the clerk to schedule a meeting with the Commissioner.
