Synopsis of a Regular Meeting
Held on September 11, 2017
at 6:30 p.m
CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Village of Fairgrove Board was called to order by President Wassa at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017, in the Fairgrove Village Hall, 5005 W. Center St. Fairgrove, Tuscola County, Michigan.
Roll Call
Present Cathy Phelps, Brad Phelps, Troy McIntosh, Tina Wassa, and Tom Wassa (P)
Motion #1. Motion by B. Phelps, supported by T. McIntosh, to approve the agenda. Motion carried (5-0).
Motion #2. Motion by C Phelps, supported by B. Phelps, to approve the minutes of the August 7, 2017 meeting. Motion carried (5-0).
PUBLIC AND BOARD COMMENTS
There were three public questions and comments.
FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT
Chief Young updated the board on fire runs (6) for the month of August 2017 and put the fire run report on file.
DPW REPORT
Motion #3. Motion by B. Phelps, supported by C. Phelps, to purchase 18 barricade boards at a cost of 31.95 each, and any brackets if needed. Motion carried (5-0).
CLERK REPORT
OLD BUSINESS
Motion #4. Motion by B. Phelps, supported by T. McIntosh, to accept the snow plowing bid from Rievert Farms. Motion Carried (RC 5-0).
NEW BUSINESS
The Village board discussed the potential purchase of a new fire truck.
Motion #5. Motion by T. McIntosh, supported by T. Wassa, to adopt a Resolution authorizing the Village President and/or Village Clerk to close roads with MDOT. Motion Carried (RC 5-0).
Motion #6. Motion by T. Wassa, supported by C. Phelps, to purchase VSD (Variable Speed Drives) as part of the Sewer CIP (Capital Investment Program). (5-0)
Motion #7. Motion by B. Phelps, supported by T. Wassa to set a public hearing to hear Ordinance #66 – Trimming and Removal of trees on private property for October 2, 2017, at 7pm at the Village Hall. Motion Carried (5-0).
Motion #8. Motion by T. McIntosh, Seconded by B. Phelps to approve expenses in the amount of $108875.70 (RC 5-0).
