VILLAGE OF FAIRGROVE
June 2, 2008

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Maguire.
Motion Prusi second Eurich to accept the May 5, 2008 regular meeting minutes as printed. Carried.
Fire Chief Young reported the department had 2 runs for May.
MotionAdams second Wassa to approve Amos Perkins as a probationary fire fighter pending an acceptable physical exam. Carried.
Correspondence was received from Fairgrove Township requesting that the village not restrict truck traffic on Shreeves Road.
The clerk informed the council that the village attorney stated a Traffic Control Order by
the police chief would be all that’s needed if the council wanted to limit truck traffic on
local streets. Chief Wassa stated that he would create such an order.
Motion Prusi second Adams to advertise two village lots for sale by sealed bid, with minimum bid of $3500 per lot; the first being property # 036-500-231-0250-00 on
W Center, description 60’ x 66, the second being property # 036-500-200-0100-00 of
Lot 1 Hillcrest Subdivision, description 56.54’ x 150’ x 95.2’ x 100’ x 150’ (uneven
five-sided lot) with the village reserving the right to reject any and all bids. Carried.
Motion Eurich second Adams to accept the proposal from MacFarlane Trucking for
S. Main Street roadside maintenance totaling $800. Carried.
The clerk informed the council that the 2008 village taxable value is $8,593,802 which
is an increase of 3.67% from 2007, $9,641 in delinquent sewer billings and $17,302 in building demolition costs will be added to 2008 village property tax billings.
Motion Prusi second Eurich to pay bills of approximately $13,400.03. Carried.
