FAIRGROVE VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES

October 6, 2014

PRESENT:  T. Wassa, B. Phelps, T. Humpert, D. Maguire, C. Phelps,

ABSENT:  J. VanHove, J. Gehrls

EMPLOYEES:  D. Donelow, D. Englehart and L. Baur

Council meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Wassa.

Humpert/Maguire motioned to add the sale of police equipment to the agenda for the council meeting; all in favor, motion carried.

B. Phelps/Humpert motioned to approve the minutes from the September 8, 2014 council meeting; all in favor, motion carried.

Humpert/Maguire motioned to approve October agenda; all in favor, motion carried.

AUDIENCE RECOGNITION

Fern Young concerned about sidewalks and where we were with getting them fixed.

DEPARTMENT/COMMITTEE REPORTS

Fire – L. Baur discussed 5 fire runs and 3 assists in September. 

DPW – D. Englehart presented 3 quotes for sidewalk repair. 

Humpert/B. Phelps motioned to accept quote for sidewalk repair from Dale Rieck Masonry for $4,360.00; all in favor, motion carried.

CORRESPONDENCE – None

NEW BUSINESS

Village Clerk, D. Donelow, asking for $1 an hour raise to increase pay from $11 an hour to $12 an hour after 90 days effective 10/16/14.

Humpert/C. Phelps motioned to approve giving clerk $1 an hour raise effective 10/16/2014; all in favor, motion carried.

Sale of old police department equipment on Ebay excluding the Chief’s badge.

B. Phelps/C. Phelps motioned to approve the sale of defunct police department equipment on Ebay, excluding Chief’s badge.

FINANCES

Humpert/Maguire motioned to approve September disbursements totaling approximately $11,253.77; all in favor, motion carried.

As there was no other business, meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
