FAIRGROVE VILLAGE FIRE COMMITTEE MINUTES
JANUARY 23, 2013
PRESENT: T. Wassa, T. Humpert, M. Couture, D. Young, L. Baur, F. Ahrens, M. Hall
Fire Committee Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
Discussion was held regarding the breakdown of costs for the new fire truck and the cost per section to the townships. Cost for the light bar was not previously included in cost summary. Also, the cost per section was previously calculated on the loan amount only and did not include some of the additional costs to prepare the truck for service. M. Couture will gather the needed information, recalculate the amount per section, and contact the village attorney to have the new fire truck contract with the townships drafted, as well as review the fire protection contracts so any necessary changes can be made before the next renewal on April 1st. Hopefully, the contracts will be available to be presented for approval at the February council meeting.
D. Young has gotten quotes to epoxy the floor of the fire hall. Sand blasting the floor has been recommended for better paint adhesion. Preparation of the floor is included in the quotes, but more research is needed into the durability of the materials used before a decision can be made. Plan to include estimated cost in this year’s buildings and grounds budget.
As there was no other business, meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Melissa Couture
