VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES
MARCH 5, 2012

The Fairgrove Village Council Meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Leen/Hall made a motion to accept the Fairgrove Village Council Minutes of February 6, 2012. Motion Carried.
Audience Recognition: None
Budget for 2012/2013 was gone over. Humpert/Hall made a motion to accept the 2012/2013 Budget as presented. Motion Carried. Hall/Gehrls made a motion to accept the 2011/2012 Budget Amendments as presented. Motion Carried.
Department/Committee Reports:
File Fire Report – Hall/Humpert made a motion to purchase fire hose at a cost of $1030.32. Motion Carried. Hall/Gehrls made a motion to order turnout gear out of budget 2012/2013. Motion Carried. Fire Department Fish Fry is Friday, March 9th and Friday, March 30th. Chief Young also reported that the lights under the loft are out. He also reported there had been two fire committee meetings. Cost recovery ordinance needs to be completed. Leen/Gehrls made a motion to start process for Chemical Bank to look into getting installment purchase agreement for Fire Department and how much Village of Fairgrove would qualify for in a loan. Motion Carried.
Hall/Wood made a motion to repair tank from Birch Tank at a cost of $34,720.00 (it will take approximately 3 – 4 months to repair). A $10,000 deposit is needed to start work. Motion Carried.
T. Wassa entered at 7:40 p.m.
Planning Committee: A meeting is going to be scheduled as there are three items that will be put on the agenda. Humpert will report back once committee has met.
Tire Recycling: May 19th from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Unfinished Business:
T. Humpert stated he contacted G & G Electric and there is nothing available for grants for lighting.
Gehrls/Leen made a motion to reimburse the Village of Akron $200.00 to offset the cost of the Clerk’s Conference. Wassa concerned that the Village should not pay for an interim clerk to go to class. Leen explained that whatever the interim clerk would learn, she would then pass onto the new clerk when hired. She feels this is good education and they should take part in it. 6 ayes. 1 ney. Motion Carried.
New Business: Drain on Fairgrove Road was discussed. The Streets Committee will set up a meeting in order to check on the need of the Village of Fairgrove paying a portion of the ditch to dug and cleaned out.
Wassa stated that precedence should be set; Leen stated that this would be tabled until Streets Committee would meet. Wood questioned if Englehart could dig, since the Village of Fairgrove has a backhoe.
W. Prusi entered at 8:07 p.m.
Chief LaPratt stated that the Village of Fairgrove should be looking at some ordinances that the Village should have set in place. ORV’s, Snowmobiles, and golf carts. Also to add in to the Nudity Ordinance that no mobile vehicles. LaPratt will work with clerk on these ordinances to bring to Council.
Finances/Disbursements: Hall/Gehrls made a motion to approve finances. Motion Carried.
As there was no other business, meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m. The next Fairgrove Village Council Meeting will be Monday, April 2, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
