August 1, 2011

President Maguire called the August 1, 2011 Fairgrove Village Council to order at 7:00 p.m. Leen/Hall made a motion to accept the Fairgrove Village Council minutes dated July 11, 2011. 5 ayes. Motion Carried.
Audience Recognition:
F. Young commented that there have been a lot of speeders down on N. Main. Would like Chief LaPratt to look into. G. Jeffers discussed that her storm drain has damaged her porch and deck. Maguire will check into. C. Hills also commented that the storm drains need to cleaned off and their covers cleaned off.
G. Sleight discussed the Bean Festival. The banners have been put up. They will be putting up Volleyball nets in the old sand volleyball pits. Leen/Hall made a motion to allow the Bean Festival Queen’s Judging to be held at the Village Hall. 5 ayes. Motion Carried. Hall/Gehrls made a motion to allow gate for the Entertainment Tent on the southwest side. 5 ayes. Motion Carried.
Department/Committee Reports:
Fire: Chief Young reported the fire calls runs for month of July. He reported that the Fire Department is going to borrow a fire truck from Caro currently while theirs is getting repaired. Fire Prevention Week is in October.
Police: Hall/Humpert made a motion to place a Medical Marijuana Moritorium for six months. 5 ayes. Motion Carried.
New Business

Old Business
Humpert still has not heard anything from Grace Lutheran regarding their building project. He will set up a Planning Committee Meeting.
Finances:
Humpert/Leen made a motion to amend $35,000.00 from General Fund into Equipment Fund to offset deficit. 5 ayes. Motion Carried.
Humpert/Gehrls made a motion to amend the Equipment Rental Fund for $35,000.00. 5 ayes. Motion Carried.
Hall/Humpert made a motion to approve August disbursements. 5 ayes. Motion Carried.
As there was no other business, meeting adjourned. The next Fairgrove Village Council Meeting is September 12, 2011 at 7 p.m.
