VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES
APRIL 4, 2011

President Maguire called the April 4, 2011 Fairgrove Village Council to order at 7:30 p.m. Humpert/Wassa made a motion to accept the Fairgrove Village Council minutes dated March 21, 2011. 6 ayes. Motion Carried.
Audience Recognition:
F. Young – stated she has no problem with contracting with the Village of Akron for police services; however, she does not want to sell the police car. Parrish questioned what was going on with the police department.
Department/Committees
DPW – None
FIRE: Chief Young reported that there had been two runs for the month of March, 2011. Firemen’s Fish Fry is Friday, April 8, 2011. He has been in contact with Michigan Sugar regarding their storage at Laethem’s. He will do the proper paperwork needed with the State of Michigan.
POLICE: Maguire reported that he and Hall had gone to the Village of Akron and inquired with them to contract for police services. He stated they would like to do a probationary six month contract to see if this is going to work out. The Village of Akron will be having a meeting and will get back with the Village of Fairgrove. In the meantime, Thompson will be filling in; a new contract may need to be completed for him.
STREETS: Humpert reported that the clerk has the correct paperwork for the street closing and will be completing this for the Red Hacker and Parade Labor Day Weekend.
Correspondence:
Par Plan- They are requesting a Board Member position be filled; given to Council for input. Also the Tuscola Area Airport has a Board Member position open.
Unfinished Business:
Bean Festivals April 30, 2011 Bump & Grind has been rescheduled for May 27th.
New Business:
BS&A Software proposal for tax program. The cost will be $800.00 hookup and then $160 for the second and third year tech support. Gehrls/Leen made a motion to accept the BS&A Tax Software Proposal. 6 ayes. Motion Carried.
Humpert/Wassa made a motion to reschedule the Tire Recycling for May 14th. 6 ayes. Motion Carried.
Finances:
Hall/Gehrls made a motion to pay disbursements of $26168.90. 6 ayes. Motion Carried.
As there was no other business, meeting adjourned at 7:57 p.m. The next Fairgrove Village Council Meeting will be April 18th at 7:30 p.m.
