VILLAGE OF FAIRGROVE
JULY 20, 2009

Guests: Police Chief James Sherrod, Fire Chief Doug Young, Donnie Englehart, Bob Parsell, Fern Young
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Maguire.
Motion Prusi second Farnum to accept the July 6, 2009 regular meeting minutes as printed. Carried.
Motion Prusi second Eurich to purchase the Fire Department’s budgeted generator with light from Bay Cycle Sales for $1387. Carried.
Police Chief Sherrod informed the council that Cabela’s responded to his request letter by offering the department a mountain bike and helmets at a 50% discount making our purchase price $242.
Motion Eurich second Prusi to hire Jeff Parsell as municipal building janitor at $7.50 per hour effective immediately. In case Mr. Parsell was no longer available hiring Rod Karpovich with the same conditions. Carried.
Adams stated and the council agreed that the police department would handle Grass & Weed Ordinance violations pursuant to the motion voted in at the July 6, 2009 council meeting.
Correspondence was received from Tuscola County Commissioner Amanda Roggenbuck informing about flood map updates, Nietzke & Faupel, P.C. informing of the closing of their Sebewaing office and merging with their Pigeon office.
The clerk provided a copy of Certification of Final Decision that the village attorney suggested could be used by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Motion Adams second Hall to adopt Outdoor Burning Ordinance #51 as submitted by the village attorney with the following exceptions: renaming Sec 2. to Campfire; changing Sec 2 A. recreational fire to campfire; eliminating Sec. 2 C. Carried.
MotionPrusi second Adams to adopt Sidewalk Ordinance #58 as submitted by the village attorney with the following exception: eliminating in Section 1. the words snow and ice. Carried.
Motion Prusi second Adams to set the Rezoning Request Fee at $250 and to use the Petition for Rezoning form supplied by the village attorney. Carried.
Motion Adams second Prusi to pay bills of approximately $10,778.02. Carried.
Keith & Darlene Bishop and Carol Murday approached the council with questions about the village plat for the Mary Murday estate. As these questions could be addressed outside of the council meeting, President Maguire Adjourned the meeting at 8:24.p.m.
